Position Purpose:
Manager of Food Safety and Quality is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of all food products and processes within the organization and will lead the development and implementation of food safety and quality policies, procedures, and programs that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, meet customer expectations, and uphold brand reputation.
The Manager of Food Safety and Quality will also provide guidance and support to internal teams and external partners on food safety and quality matters.
Manager of Food Safety and Quality Key
Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance to food safety requirements with regards to company standards, customer requirements, GMP's, JUICE HACCP, USDA, FDA and other regulations as they apply.
Responsible for the implementation of the SQF program and has the authority to take appropriate action(s) to ensure the integrity of the SQF system is maintained.
Lead the development, implementation, review, maintenance, and continual improvement of the food safety and quality system and best practices in our food industry.
Evaluate audit findings and implement and/or recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions, ensuring corrective closure.
Maintain Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) and conduct supplier approvals.
Assist sales/marketing with customer onboarding and ensure compliance with all customer food safety requirements.
Execute and guide employee training programs that support objectives related to food safety.
Manage and implement organic handler certifications.
Qualified candidates will possess:
Bachelor's degree in food science, microbiology or food technology or related field.
Certified GFSI scheme practitioner or equivalent.
Trained or experienced as a PCQI.
Minimum of 5 years of food QA management experience.
